The CDC has just received a transfer of USD 430,600 (XAF 250 million), corresponding to the first tranche of the second grant that Gabon has received from the Green Climate Fund (GCF). This funding, which amounts to USD 923,463 (eq. XAF 530 million), addresses a programme of activities related to the National Adaptation Plan (NAP). It will enable the Gabonese State to better prioritize its investment needs for the adaptation of its coastal zone through the improvement of the scientific and technical knowledge base on climate change.
This Tuesday, January 22, 2019 therefore marked the launch of the work to implement the grant through a scoping meeting aimed at mobilizing the main stakeholders, including the National Agency for Nature Conservation (ANPN), technical responsibility for the project; the CDC, administrative and financial manager, and the National Climate Council (CNC) in its role as coordinator of the national climate change policy. »/p>
